Combat
Combat is impossible to avoid in any Zelda game.
Here are some simple things to know about combat. A swing of the remote is just a simple swing, but there are different types of swing. Here are the different types of swings.
- (While standing still)Horizontal or vertical swing
- (While walking)The same as above but while moving
- (While standing still and Z-Targeting)Same as 1 and 2 but locked onto an enemy
- (While walking and Z-targeting)Same as 3 but a stab
Different swing don’t do anything different, they just look cool. Z-Targeting is simply holding down the Z button on the nunchuck(banana looking controller).
A shake of the nunchuck, and you will a do spin attack. Now a spin attack is important. It will do double damage of what a regular swing does. The only problem with it is that you have to wait to spin again.
Another important thing for combat is howling stones. They may not seem important now, but if you see one and can turn into wolf Link, DO IT! The first time I played I had a hard time, and then I got all the howling stone and realized how much easier it was. There are 6 howling stones, not including the one in the sacred grove and the gold wolf that appears out of nowhere. There is one in…
- Death Mountain
- North Zora’s River
- North Faron Woods
- Lake Hylia
- Snowpeak
- Hidden Village
Learning to fight with wolf link is simple. Shake the controller to bite. Dashing into an enemy also works, but I find this harder to do. Also, holding down the B button will attack everything around you. You learned this while defeating shadow beasts, but this works on anything.
